Since mid-June, relentless monsoon rains, cloudbursts, and flash floods have battered Pakistan, striking hardest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan. The death toll has now risen to over 320 nationwide. In KP alone, more than 300 lives have been lost—many due to sudden flash floods that swept away entire homes and villages.
In Buner district, one of the worst-hit areas, at least 207 people were killed in a single catastrophic event, with many more missing. Roads, bridges, and homes have been destroyed, leaving families cut off and desperate for aid.
